Sondra Weigel, auxiliary president, thanked each of the members for their service, noting there is much work at the hospital which would not have been done if not for the efforts of the auxiliary.

"This is not possible without all of you," Weigel said.

Among the efforts noted by Weigel were renovations and upgrades to the hospital's gift shop and a variety of fundraisers to assist with other programs.

Auxiliary members also volunteer at blood drives and other events held at Weirton Medical Center.

The auxiliary's officers also include Jeannie Duffy, president-elect; Barbara Cameron, vice president; Elda Weekley, recording secretary; Mary Lou Batcho, corresponding secretary; and Paula Billick, treasurer.

Barbara Coulter, who has worked as the hospital's liaison to the auxiliary for the past year, also thanked the group for their service.

"I knew it was going to be an honor and privilege to work with you all," she said, noting the membership continues to amaze her with their hard work, dedication and loyalty to the hospital.

During the dinner, the auxiliary also recognized two local students who received scholarships from the organization.
