Never Alone WV President Patti Barnabei, Vice President Jim Griffith and Secretary Kim Uram make plans for their fall rally in support of a drug-free community. The rally, set for 4 p.m. Aug. 17, will feature former Pitt wide receiver Joey Delsardo, who found himself addicted to pain killers after an ankle injury, and former Super Bowl MVP and Pittsburgh Steeler defensive standout Dwayne Woodruff, now an Allegheny County judge and chairman of the Do the Write Thing program that gives middleschoolers a chance to examine the impact of youth violence in their lives. Jake Curtis will sing the national anthem. Also appearing will be the Teen Challenge Choir from Youngstown; 6-year-old drum prodigy Avery Molek of Washington, Pa., who has appeared on the “Today Show,” “Live with Kelly & Michael” and with Brad Paisley; Next Second Chance Band; M. Mills, a mime act, and DJ Nin. There will be face painting, a candlelight walk, balloon art, food and vendors and special drawings. For information, call (304) 797-1579. -- Linda Harris
