WASHINGTON, D.C. - West Virginia Alpha Tau Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa members attended the 28th international convention July 4-7 in Washington, D.C.
Alpha Tau member Ginger Greene received the West Virginia Membership Award at the Southeast Regional luncheon.
Jacquie Lougheed, World Understanding lecturer; author Jason Wright; and Michelle Schearer, 2011 Teacher of the Year, were the speakers. The educational syposium's theme was "A Star-Spangled Salute to Excellence" and sessions on topics including common core, wellness, technology and leadership were available.

Delegates voted for international officers and two altruistic projects, St. Jude's Children's Hospital and the Alzheimer Association.
Alpha Delta Kappa is the international honorary organization for women educators. The next international convention will be held in Salt Lake City in July 2015.
