Tri-State Christian Academy to hold consignment sale

WEIRTON - The Tri-State Christian Academy will hold the annual kids consignment sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the Mercy Baptist Church located at 3474 Pennsylvania Ave.

St. Paul holding soup, bake sale

BRIDGEPORT, Ohio - St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church will hold an annual indoor basement sale and soup, sandwich and bake sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the church located at 56381 National Road, next to Wilson's Funeral Home.

Parking is free.

Our Lady holding chicken dinner

WHEELING - Our Lady of Perpetual Help Ukrainian Catholic Church's Holy Name Society will hold a chicken dinner from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the church located at 4136 Jacob St.

The menu includes chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, cole slaw, dessert and tea or coffee. The cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children. Carry-out is available.

Back to school festival set

WHEELING - The North Wheeling Youth Center will hold a back to school festival and adopt-a-student program from 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 10 at the center located at Main and Fourth streets.

Free school supplies will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. The festival will include inflatables, games, food and music.

Donations and volunteers are welcome. Sponsors include the Christian Fellowship Foundation, JACK-FM, Wheeling Rotary Club and Comcast.

Music festival scheduled

NEW CUMBERLAND - The fifth annual Down by the Riverside Music Festival will be held from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 11 at the Fireman's Field located on state Route 2.

The benefit is an afternoon inspirational music concert and includes food and entertainment such as a bounce house, face-painting and carnival-style games.

The following acts are scheduled to perform: Extol, The Remnants, Newell First Church of the Nazarene Worship Team, Anaphero, Nathan Harris, John Edwards, Tyler Stovall with Vince Travaline and The Edge.

Admission is free, but those attending are asked to bring a canned good for the local food closet. Donations are being accepted, and all proceeds through sponsorships and food sales will benefit the New Cumberland United Church Social Services program, which helps the community's needy.
