BLACKMOOR

The Blackmoor Monday evening golf league played a flag game on Aug. 5. When players reached their handicap, they placed the flag in the ground. Whoever was closest to the clubhouse was the winner.

The winner was Cheryl Black, who also had a chip-in on hole No. 11.

CADIZ

Play of the Day on Aug. 7 for the Cadiz Country Club Women's Golf Association was low net. A flight winner was Cathy Shepherd; B flight was Peg Buchanan; and C flight was Ginny Ferrell. The Low Putts of the Field pot was divided also between Shepherd, Buchanan and Ferrell.

Chip-ins were made by Dolores Ginier on No. 1, Marcia Bedway on No .3, Ferrell on No. 5 and Bonnie Beetham on No. 12. Shepherd had a bird on No. 14.

That was the first week of the club championship tournament, which is chaired by Billie Stanwick. Aug. 14 will be the final week. The hostess will be Nancy Beckert. Tee time remains at 9 a.m.

On July 31, Kathy Smith was hostess for the Cadiz Country Club Women's Golf Association play on July 31, chosing the game of Blind Partners, where a partner is picked after play.

There was a tie between the team of Nep Rowland and Ginny Ferrell, and the team of Peg Buchanan and Donna Griffin. There also was a tie for low putts of the field between Ferrell and Rowland.

"Kathy's Point Game," giving a point for first on the green, one putt and chip-in, was won by Bonnie Beetham. Buchanan had a chip-in on hole No. 15. Rowland had a bird on hole No. 18.

Billie Stanwick is in charge of the club championship tournament played on Aug. 7 and Aug. 14. Tee times begin at 9 a.m. Betty Thompson will be hostess for "Play of the Day."

STEUBENVILLE

The weekly game was the Nose tournament for the Steubenville Country Club Women's Golf Association with Kim Criss as chairman.

Taking first place in the first flight was Marilyn Kenny, and second place was a tie between Kim Criss and Yangja Ko. Criss had a chip-in and low putts. Kenny had three birdies as did Ko. Taking first place in the second flight was Charlene Freshwater, and second place was Dianna Adams, who also had low putts.

In the nine-hole golf group, Dotty Tegano was first place and Shirley Guida was second. Tegano also had low putts.

At the luncheon following play, Criss announced that the sign-up sheet for club championship is posted as the next two weeks will be the club championship.

WILLIAMS

Jennie Epifano took the Williams senior championship with steady play in a two-week, 18-hole tournament. Epifano was leading the tourney the first week and kept up her stellar play to take the honors for the two-week event.

Priscilla Mavrich and Erikka Buracchio came in with tie scores, so after the luncheon the two women engaged in a play-off to determine the winner.

After just one hole, with all the other women following, Mavrich sunk the putt to take the senior champion runner-up winner.

Super senior champion honors went to Sue Sakara with Vi Stein following for super senior champion runner-up.

In the "Blind Draw Event" within the tournament play, the winning team in first place was Karen Pitchok and Maribeth Arlia with Alicia Myers and Vi Stein in second place.

The "Pot of Gold" with a two-week jackpot was shared by Mavrich, Pitchok, Rita Wickham and Kay Mascio, all with chip-ins.

Jason Smoljanovich, assistant pro, set up the teams of players and processed the scores for the event, for which the membership expressed its appreciation.

Phyliss Phillips and Mavrich were co-chairs for the "Rally for a Cure" held Aug. 10.

Williams Ladies Golf Association held a Low Gross & Low Net event in three flights. First flight low gross winner was Priscilla Mavrich with a score of 89. Sue Sakara came in with a low net score of 67.

Flight two low gross was Rita Kohn with a score of 106. Erikka Buracchio took low net with a 79.

Flight three low gross winner was Maureen Dumbaugh with a score of 105, and Vi Stein took low net with a cool 77.

"Closest to the Green in two shots on hole No. 18" was our skill prize for the week, and the winner in first flight was Senior Champion Jennie Epifano. Flight two went to Phyllis Phillips, and third flight honors to Stein.

Sakara took the "Pot of Gold" for the only chip-in.

Jason Smoljanovich, assistant pro, set up and totaled all the scoring.

President Linda Staffilino called a meeting following the luncheon for the special event co-chairs, Mavrich and Phillips. Players are asked to call the pro shop to sign up for the following week's play.

TOWN AND COUNTRY

Town and Country Women Golf League had a Medal Play on July 30 at Spring Hills Golf Course. The winners were:

Findlay had a chip-in on hole No. 4 and a birdie on hole No. 1.
