Thursday lunches return

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio - Sycamore Tree Church located at 301 N. Fourth St., will hold a soup and sandwich sale from 11 a.m. to noon on Thursday.

The menu will include wedding, vegetable or chicken tortilla soup by the cup for $2 or bowl for $3; hot turkey sandwiches or sloppy joes for $2.50; hot dogs for $1.50 (50 cents more for a coney); a brownie or peanut butter cake for 50 cents; and drinks for 50 cents.

Orders can be e-mailed by 10 a.m. Thursday to www.sycamoretreechurch.com and should include a phone number and address to specify pickup or delivery. After 10 a.m. Thursday, place orders by calling (740) 282-0997.

One free delivery is made to the Weirton Half Moon area around 11:30 a.m. Thursday and to Trinity West around noon.

WEIRTON - The Weir High School Class of 2014 will participate in a celebrity server night from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Undo's.

The event will include a 50/50 and drawings. All proceeds benefit Josh Boyd, who was injured in a motocross accident.

Ladies of Steel

set to meet

WEIRTON - The third annual Ladies of Steel meeting will be held at 5 p.m. Aug. 28 at the Serbian Picnic Grounds on Kings Creek Road.

All those women who worked for or are employed at National Steel, Weirton Steel, ISG Weirton or ArcelorMittal are invited to attend.

Registrations are needed by Aug. 19.

Class of '64

to meet

CHESTER - Oak Glen High School Class of 1964, the school's first graduating class, will hold a 50th reunion Aug. 9, 2014.

A planning meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Aug. 21 at the Chester City Building.

Those attending should use the back entrance by the gym. All classmates are invited to attend.

Labyrinth walk

WEIRTON - There will be a guided labyrinth walk with Ed "Bud" Simmons performing live hammered dulcimer music from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 25 at the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church located at 101 Lisa Court.

The labyrinth, located on the church's back lawn, is part of the Weirton Tri-Parish of United Methodist Churches' outreach program.

The event will be held weather permitting.
