WEIRTON - One of the Weirton area's pre-eminent social events is fast approaching.
The annual Wine and Dine at Williams is set to take place 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sept. 21 at Williams Country Club. The event is presented by the Weirton Area Chamber of Commerce and the Business Development Corp. of the Northern Panhandle with support from local businesses.
"This is the fourth one," Weirton Area Chamber of Commerce President Brenda Mull said.

The Wine and Dine at Williams serves as a fundraiser for the chamber's educational programs - including Leadership Weirton and the High School Business Symposium - as well as the community Christmas light displays.

Individual tickets may be purchased at $45 each, and the event is open to the public.

The Wine and Dine at Williams provides guests with several stations to sample various wines and beer. Food, prepared by the staff of Williams Country Club, also will be available.
The man cave, introduced two years ago, features hard liquors and cigars. Rides along Williams Drive in a horse-drawn carriage will be offered throughout the evening.
In addition, each year those in attendance receive a special wine-themed gift.
"This year we're giving out coasters," Mull said, explaining past gifts have included wine bags and bottle toppers.
