PITTSBURGH - Girl Scout Troop 35313 of Burgettstown got a behind-the-scenes look at the working of the Pittsburgh Zoo recently.
The troop donated old cell phones to the zoo as part of a recycling program. For each phone and cell phone accessory donated, the zoo receives funds from Eco-cell.
The troop also was able to participate in the ZSI: Zoo Scene Investigation overnight program, where they participated in investigating four "cases." Those participating used investigative tools and "interviewed" suspects and witnesses. They also participated in a night-time scavenger hunt in the African Savanna and Asian Forest portions of the zoo and took a behind-the-scene tour of the lion and tiger exhibits. The troop also had a visit from a live animal and participated in making a craft.
