WEIRTON - The air was cool, but the sun was shining for the Weirton United Way's 10th-annual poker run Saturday.
"It's perfect weather for riding," Event Chair Jeff Davis said.
Approximately 35 riders took part in the event, which helps to raise money for the Weirton United Way's annual fundraising campaign.
Participants departed the Fairfield Inn & Suites shortly after noon Saturday, traveling into Ohio and north to the Guilford Lake area near Lisbon, Ohio, then to the 19th Hole restaurant near Chippewa, Pa., before ending the afternoon at the White Stallion outside of Chester.
"We're all here supporting a good cause," he said.
Davis thanked all the riders for coming out and Barb Owens, general manager of the Fairfield Inn & Suites for allowing them to begin the event at the hotel.
