ZUCOSKY, Alexander Joseph, 85, of Weirton, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, at his home.
He was born in New Cumberland, WV on Feb. 20, 1928, to Mary and Alexander Zukowski.
On May 19, 1949, Alexander was joined in marriage to Josephine Kelley.
Alexander was a member of Sacred Heart of Mary Church in Weirton, WV. He was retired from Weirton Steel Corporation as a Rougher in the 54" Hot Mill. He was also a veteran of the United States Army during World War II. He was an avid bowler, fisherman, and card player.
Along with his parents, Alexander is preceded in death by his two brothers, Vince Zucosky and Benny Evansiewicz; three sisters, Lucy Recinella, Bernice Gatjka, and Mary Blasczak. He is also preceded in death by one grandson, Commander Andy Kaminski.
Alexander is survived by his wife, Josephine Kelley Zucosky; his daughter, Christine (Tim) Kelly of McMurray, PA; sons, Alexander Patrick (Jane) Zucosky of Albuquerque, NM., David Michael (Julie Rio) Zucosky of Port Charlotte, Fl., and James Ronald (Bernadette) Zucosky; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Steel and Wolfe Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3721 Main Street, Weirton, WV, 26062 on Thursday, September 26 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be conducted at the Sacred Heart of Mary Church in Weirton on Friday, September 27 at 10 a.m. with Father Tony Thurston officiating.
Burial will follow at New Cumberland Cemetery with Military funeral service honors given by V.F.W Post No. 2716 Firing Squad and the American Legion Post No.10 Honor Guard.
