Empowerment program

October 10, 2013
Weirton Daily Times
The Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston Department of Catholic Schools sponsored a series of seminars on empowering students to push back against bullying during West Virginia Bullying Awareness Week. Seminars were held for the Weirton Madonna High School, St. Joseph the Worker Grade School and St. Paul School students and for parents. Therapist Jim Bisenius addressed the St. Joseph pupils Wednesday morning as part of the three-part program, “Bully-Proofing Students,” which addresses teachers, parents and students. Bisenius developed the program after 16 years as a child-adolescent therapist specializing in empowerment techniques. -- Summer Wallace-Minger
