St. Thomas Episcopal Church

to hold rummage sale

WEIRTON - St. Thomas Episcopal Church's St. Elizabeth Guild will hold their fall rummage sale from 9 a.m. to p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the church located on Three Springs Drive.

Country Friends host Eldurays

COLLIERS - The Country Friends will host The Eldurays Saturday at the Memorial Hall located at 402 Old Police Lodge Road.

The doors open at 6 p.m., and the dance begins at 7 p.m.

Country Friends hold covered-dish dinners and open mic nights every Monday and Friday. The doors open at 4 p.m., the meal begins at 5 p.m., and open mic begins at 6 p.m.

Country Friends Foundation Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting Christianity, friendship and brotherly love through music. all proceeds go to charity.

Church holding fall bazaar

COLLIERS - The Colliers United Methodist Church will hold the annual fall bazaar and turkey dinner from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 26 at the church located at 318 Pennsylvania Ave., across from the Colliers Post Office.

Soups and sandwiches, including hot dogs and sloppy joes, will be available for eat-in or take-out from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Dinner will include turkey and dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, rolls, desserts and drinks and will be available from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The cost of dinner is $8 for adults, $4 for children 12 and under and free for children 6 and under. Carry-outs are available.

The event also will include a bake sale, white elephant sale and jewelry sale.

Newell Church holding open house

NEWELL - The Newell Glendale Church of the Nazarene will hold an open house Oct. 27 at their church located at Sixth Street and Glendale Road, just past Shadow Lawn Cemetery.

Morning service will be held at 10:40 a.m., with lunch immediately following until 2 p.m. The event will include food and games. The pastors and teachers will be available to answer questions.

The public is invited to attend.

Tea as ministry seminar set

PARIS, Pa. - "The Tea Lady" Diane Shoup will give a presentation, "Lesson in Hospitality: Using Tea as a Ministry" at noon Nov. 6 at The Gathering Place Coffee Shop located at 127 Steubenville Pike.

Shoup will demonstrate tea as a ministry, and tea, sandwiches and cookies will be provided. Reservations should be made by Oct. 25. To make a reservation, call the Paris Presbyterian Church office from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday at (724) 729-3450.

Coffee With Author scheduled

PARIS, Pa. - Karina Majoris-Garrison will be the featured author at the noon Nov. 13 Coffee With the Author at The Gathering Place Coffee Shop located at 127 Steubenville Pike.

Majoris-Garrison is an award-winning author, and her stories have appeared in "Chicken Soup for the Soul," "God Allows U-Turns," "Journeys of Friendship" and "Journeys of Joy" and Woman's World. She is a Kings Features syndicated columnist.

Majoris-Garrison will talk about how she began writing and her new romance novel, "Tempting Faith," the first in the Cotswold Series.
