Weirton Steel Management

Club set to meet Monday

WEIRTON - The Weirton Steel Management Club will meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday at Giovanni's Restaurant banquet room. There will be a speaker on the 2014 Health Care changes and updates. All members and former members are invited to attend. Dinner and social will be enjoyed.

Group holding art show

WEIRTON - The Art Department of the Weirton Woman's Club, a General Federation of Women's Clubs of West Virginia member organization, will hold a holiday craft festival from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 2 at the R.J. Bush Center, adjacent to the Mercy Baptist Church, located at 3474 Pennsylvania Ave. Admission is $3.

There will be approximately 20 crafters selling primitive wood products, gift baskets, jewelry, wreaths and dog accessories. A Child's Place Court-Appointed Special Advocates will be in attendance. Donations for the Hancock County Animal Shelter will be accepted. The event will features several local authors selling and signing books. There also will be a bake sale and entertainment. Parking is free.

Churches holding bazaar

WELLSBURG - The Franklin United Methodist Church and Independence United Methodist Church will hold a fall and Christmas bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 9 at the Franklin church located at 1231 Washington Pike/state Route 27.

A variety of crafts, white elephants and baked goods will be available for purchase. Soup and sandwich lunches also will be available. The proceeds will benefit the churches' mission projects, locally, nationally and internationally. The public is invited to attend.

Musketeers 4-H Club meets

WEIRTON - The Weirton Musketeers 4-H Club met Oct. 20 for the first meeting of the club year with 13 members present.

Outgoing President Mackenzie Moore called the meeting to order, followed by singing.

New officers were elected. They include President Arden Minor, Vice president Anna Byers, Secretary Olivia Dowler, Treasurer Colin Heilman, Reporter Ben Minor, Health officer Riley Reid, Scrapbook Mackenzie Moore, Song Leaders Hannah Moore and Brooke Scopel and Game Leaders Dakota Wagner and Abby Dowler. After elections, fair projects and exhibits and poster contest entries were given back to members. Following adjournment, the Scopel family provided light refreshments. The next meeting will be held at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 17 at Cove Presbyterian Church.
