to show 'The Internship'
WELLSBURG - The Brooke County Public Library will be showing the PG-13-rated film, "The Internship," at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
The buddy comedy stars Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson.

Center to hold Halloween party
WEIRTON - The Greater Weirton Senior Center will hold a Halloween party for seniors from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Oct. 31.
There will be door prizes provided by Health South and refreshments.
Everyone is encouraged to come in costumes.
Church holding trunk or treat
WEIRTON - The Colliers Way Church of Christ will host a trunk or treat for all area children from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 31 in the church parking lot located at 612 Colliers Way.
The event, a trick-or-treating alternative, will include games, food and candy.
Church to hold pasta dinner
COLLIERS - Olde St. John's Episcopal Church, at the intersection of Eldersville and St. John's roads, will hold a spaghetti dinner from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 2.
The cost is $7.50 for the meal, which includes spaghetti with choice of meat or marinara sauce, salad, roll and beverage.
Take-out will be available.
Free dinners available to children
Free dinners are available for youth 18 and under through C.H.A.N.G.E. Inc. at afterschool programs at the following sites:
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program's After-School Adventures Program at Follansbee United Presbyterian Church, Brooke Hills Free Methodist Church and Wellsburg First Presbyterian Church, Monday through Friday.
Jefferson Primary School on Fridays.
Follansbee and Wellsburg middle schools on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Brooke High School Monday through Thursday.
The Dunbar Center in Weirton Tuesday through Friday.

Applefest contest winners named
WELLSBURG - Winners of the Wellsburg Applefest Apple Anything Baking Contest have been announced for the following categories:
Cake: Lavaughn Coulter, first place; Katherine Williams, second; and Rose Porco, third.
Dough (for pies and other items made with dough): Sondra Leonetti, first place; Amy Miller, second; and Mary Householder, third.
Miscellaneous: Judith Aracich, first place; Vincent Williams, second; and Stephen Williams, third.
Cash prizes were awarded to each winner. A total of 18 entries were received.
