MINERAL WELLS, W.Va. - Oak Glen senior Kelsey Chambers continued her dominant senior year by capturing the West Virginia Class AA-A regional championship Thursday.
Her 19:13.8 was 1:19 faster than second-place finisher Samantha Stout of Webster County.
Chambers' win also led the Golden Bears to 80 points, taking second behind Williamstown's 54 to advance them to the state championship next week at Cabell-Midland High School.

Rounding out the top five for the Golden Bears were: Felicity Nolder (7th, 21:09.1), Casey Baird (9th, 21:29.7), Alyson Snow (26th, 22:51.3) and Kaylee Coble (43rd, 23:31.6).
Weir High's Ella Jennings placed 59th in 24:43.4 and Margaret Budik 60th in 24:44.7.
The Oak Glen boys finished fifth at 113 points, nine behind fourth-place Williamstown and an automatic berth to the state meet.
Brock Smith placed eighth at 17:32.7 to qualify as an individual for next week. Teammate Cody Tropek took 12th in 17:56.0.
Weir's Tyler Virtue placed 67th in 20:44.6 and Shyler Gaunt 68th in 20:48.9.
For Brooke in Class AAA, Antonio Pizzuti took 16th in 17:33.4 and Kyle Ryan 36th in 18:50.5.
For the Lady Bruins, Hayleigh Sutak placed 47th (27:39.1) and Cassidy Bland 50th (28:01.7).
