To the Editor,
During our eighth-grade parent night at Follansbee Middle School for volleyball, our girls played against Oak Glen Middle School.
The seventh- and eighth-grade Oak Glen girls came to the game wearing the camo and pink hair ribbons in their hair to honor Hannah Mozingo, the young lady who perished in the house explosion in Follansbee. After the parent and player introductions, the eighth grade girls were presented a bouquet of flowers from all the girls and coaches from Oak Glen Middle. They stated how sorry they felt for what our girls must be feeling.
Those girls started out as strangers, yet, hearts bonded and sportsmanship escalated to a point where we strive to obtain. That moment made me so proud of our community and our youth. Thank you coaches and parents who instilled such great qualities in your girls. You all have a place in my heart, as well as many others.
