Monarch Chevron pin presented to Mingo Lion Michele Fabbro

President Jim Freiling presided for the October dinner meeting of the Mingo Lions Club that was held at the Mingo Medical Group Office Building.

Dr. William Johns served as host, providing the menu and returning to the club the donations for the meals. Karen Edwards gave the prayer and led in opening exercises.

The club discussed and agreed to honor the request by Zone 5 Chair James Everson to host the February zone meeting which will be held Feb. 17.

Bill Snyder took 30 pairs of used glasses to the Lions Collection Center, it was reported.

The club voted to make a donation to the GFWC Woman's Club of Mingo Junction for the annual Halloween parade and party.

Michele Fabbro was awarded a 10-Year Monarch Chevron for 10 years as a Lion. It came with a congratulatory letter from the international president. "On behalf of 1.35 million Lions worldwide, I thank you for your dedicated service and belief that changing a life or the world starts with each one of us," the letter read in part.

Discussion was held on the Christmas party, and members were reminded to vote on Nov. 5.

Birthdays were acknowledged.

Freiling won the drawing, donating it back to the club.

The next meeting is Nov. 18.
