Depression and bipolar group to meet Wednesday

WHEELING - The Ohio Valley Depression and Bipolar Support Group meets from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. the first, third and fifth Wednesday of each month at Wheeling Jesuit University's Whalen Hall.

The next meetings will be Wednesday and Nov. 20. It is a peer-led group, and participants may choose to speak or not speak.

Writers society meeting

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio - The Tri-State Writers Society, led by award-winning local author, Karen Majoris-Garrison, will hold its monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Nov. 12 at Eastern Gateway Community College's Room 1502.

Society holding dinner

WHEELING - The Our Lady of Perpetual Help Ukrainian Catholic Holy Name Society will sponsor a chicken dinner from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 10 at the church hall located at 4136 Jacob St.

The meal includes chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans, cole slaw, dessert and tea or coffee. The cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children. Carry-out is available, and the church hall is handicapped accessible.

Breakfast to benefit Mozingos

WELLSBURG - Wellsburg Christian Church, at 10th and Charles streets, will hold a breakfast Nov. 23 to raise funds for the Mozingo family, who lost a daughter and their home in an Oct. 11 natural gas explosion.

It will be held from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and the menu will include eggs, sausage, hash browns, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, toast, coffee, milk and juice and the cost is a donation of the donor's choice.

There also will be baked goods for sale.

Library holding craft fair

AVELLA, Pa. - The Avella Public Library will hold the fourth-annual Christmas craft and vendor fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 23 at the Avella Community Center located on Avella Heights.

Available items will include Avon, Home-Grown Tie Dye, grave blankets, Stiltner woodcrafts, embroidery, primitive woodcrafts, jewelry, crochet items, Highland Candle Co., decorated Christmas trees, hand-painted ornaments and Cookie Lee. The event also will include food and drawings.

Crafters and vendors are still being accepted. The cost is $20 for the first table and $15 for each additional table.
