Home tour will be held

Saturday, begins at library

The 2013 holiday home tour will be held Saturday, beginning with a reception from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Swaney Memorial Library, located at 100 N. Court St., New Cumberland, and continuing to eight locations in Chester, New Cumberland and Weirton.

The Hancock County Museum and Cultural Center, located at 1008 Ridge Ave., New Cumberland, will be open during the tour.

Tickets are $20. They can be purchased at the Swaney Library, Mary H. Weir Memorial Library in Weirton and Top of West Virginia Convention and Visitors' Bureau in Weirton or by calling Nancy Wright at (304) 564-3767, Judy Pryor at (304) 387-1548 or Diana Durst at (304) 723-4469.

St. Thomas holding bazaar

WEIRTON - The St. Thomas Episcopal Church will hold a Christmas Bazaar from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at the church located at Three Springs Drive.

The meal includes a meatball or ham barbecue sandwich and beef vegetable or wedding soup and coffee or tea. The cost is $6 for an adult and $3 for a child. Water and soda are $1 each, and desserts are 50 cents.

Benton to give gospel concerts

Recording artist Dennis Benton will give live gospel concerts at 10 a.m. Sunday at the Marland Heights Community Baptist Church located at 3900 Bright Way and at 11:30 a.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church located at 334 Cedar Ave., Steubenville.

Morning Star celebrates

WEIRTON - The Morning Star Baptist Church will celebrate its 94th church anniversary Nov. 17 at the church located on Weir Avenue.

The theme is "The Church That Christ is Building," based on Matthew 16:13-19.

Dinner will be served following the 10:30 a.m. morning service until 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Willie Stinson, pastor at Agape Baptist Church in Wheeling, and his congregation will be guests at 3 p.m.

The Rev. Willie L. Nevels is pastor. Stephanie Valentine is anniversary chair.

Weirtonian Lodge holding dinner

WEIRTON - The Italian Sons and Daughters of America Weirtonian Lodge 183 will hold the annual Christmas dinner at 5 p.m. Dec. 4 at Giovanni's Restaurant located at 3013 Pennsylvania Ave.
