To the editor:
From 1970 to 1972, I had the privilege of playing football at Toronto High School under former Coach Rich Wilinski. I was saddened to reach Coach Wilinski's letter to the editor regarding daughter Lynette, "Benefit will help battle pain of TN" that appeared in the Herald-Star on Nov. 17. As a parent, I can only imagine the heartache that Wilinski and his wife Barbara are going through over their daughter Lynette's illness.
After all these years, I'm sure that Coach Wilinski still bleeds "red and white." Therefore, I am asking that all former Red Knight football players, whether or not you played for Coach Wilinski, to make a donation to help defray the cost of the surgical procedure that Lynette must undergo in order to help control her pain. As a Red Knight family, let us show how we can care for one of our own who needs our help. A donation, large or small, can make a difference in Lynette's life. After all, that is what life is all about ... making a difference in someone else's life.
