Weir Middle pupils hear about animal shelter

November 25, 2013
Weirton Daily Times
Representatives of the Hancock County Animal Shelter were at Weir Middle School recently to speak with fifth and sixth-grade students about animal shelters and humane treatment of animals. Margie DeFede and Tom Goff discussed community support for the shelters, spaying and neutering and how animals can help people. The students, who recently had read books including “Shiloh,” “Winn Dixie,” and “Old Yeller,” donated money, treats, toys and food to the shelter. -- Contributed
