WEIRTON - The Tri-State Area Master Gardeners held their annual fall potluck dinner Nov. 11 at the First Christian Church located on Main Street.
President Jerri Beebe presented three Golden Shovel Awards to Joann and David Morrison of Paris, Pa., and Bill Carl of New Cumberland for their service to the Master Gardener Club.
Darwin Burge of Dillonvale, Ohio, was recognized for receiving the 2013 Outstanding Regional Amateur Gardener Award from the Ohio Association of Garden Clubs Region 12 Oct. 19 at the fall regional meeting.

Carole Sheerbaum, West Virginia University Extension Agent, was presented with flowers for support for the club. Doris Musselman was recognized for her three years of service as the club vice president.
Scheerbaum presented 10-year service pins to Nita Resler and Kevin Kale and Musselman received an Outstanding Master Gardener of the Year 2012 certificate from the state organization.
The group discussed compiling the annual calendar, which will include articles by the master gardeners and be released Jan. 13; the Jan. 25 round robin presentations at the Mary H. Weir Library; the March 15 garden workshop at Trax Farms in Finleyville, Pa.; and the state conference May 2-4 in Elkins.
The group also plans a May plant sale, June garden club tour and a public symposium.
