Operation Christmas Child, the world's largest Christmas project of its kind, uses gift-filled shoe boxes to demonstrate love and gratitude to needy children around the world. Eastern Gateway Community College's Dental Assisting Student Club collected toys; school supplies such as pens and pencils, writing pads or paper, solar calculators, coloring and picture books; and hygiene items such as toothbrushes, soap , combs and washclothes to prepare boxes. Donations were made by Eastern Gateway students, faculty and staff. The Dental Assisting Student Club also paid shipment costs for the boxes. The total donation is valued around $570. Participating were, seated, from left, Ginger Woolard and Ashley Grimm; and standing, Marley Telek, Riley Livorski, Shanna Roberts, Kathryn Crow, Jenna Taye, Sarah Stevenson, Taylor Greathouse, Anna Krapa, Brooke Stevenson, Juliet Wolfe, Rebecca Goedert and Kaitlin Nesbitt. Their instructor is Tammy Graham, assistant professor. -- Contributed
