Kelsey's Christmas Project

December 10, 2013
Weirton Daily Times
Madonna High School students and their families made 56 tie blankets for terminally ill patients at Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital of UPMC. The blankets were donated through Kelsey’s Christmas Project, which was begun seven years ago by Kelsey Andrews to honor the memory of her 17-year-old sister, Kristen, who died of cancer and was a Children’s patient. Madonna students Adam Davis and Phillip Good have spearheaded the effort at the school. Those assisting included, from left, front, Hannah Deval, Julie Egyud, Nico Connell, Joan Andrews, and, back, Austin Connell, Will Bowser, Jonathan Ekey, Nathan Martin, Maria Notni, Ali Williamson, Eva Bowser, Kennedy Martin, Phillip Good, Isabella Rosso, Ryan Egyud, Taylor Thompson, Bailey Roberts, Christian D’Angelo and Adam Davis. Toys, gift cards and money are being collected at the school for distribution at the hospital. Those interested in donating can call the school at (304) 723-0545. -- Contributed
