Weirton Area Literacy Council

to hold holiday party today

WEIRTON - The Weirton Area Literacy council will hold their annual holiday celebration at 6 p.m. today in the Mary H. Weir Public Library's activity room.

The group will discuss the West Virginia High School Equivalency Diploma, which will replace the General Equivalency Diploma.

The event will include music, refreshments and door prizes.

Volunteer tutors, library program students and their families are invited to attend.

'Night Before Christmas' set

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio - Finley United Methodist Church choir will present "The Night Before Christmas," a musical celebration of the Christmas story, at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the church located at 958 Lincoln Ave.

Club, guild holding blood drive

CHESTER - The Sacred Heart Ladies' Guild and Chester Arts Club are sponsoring a blood drive from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 31 at the Sacred Heart Center located at Fourth Street and Indiana Avenue.

The American Red Cross will give a gift certificate for a pound of Dunkin' Donuts coffee to the first 19 blood donors.
