to hold board meeting Feb. 9

WEIRTON - The Weirton Baseball Association will hold a board meeting at 6 p.m. Feb. 9 at the American Legion Hall.

All parents are welcome to attend.

St. Andrew holding soup sale

MINGO JUNCTION, Ohio - St. Andrew Orthodox Church will hold a soup sale from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 8 at the church located at 100 St. Andrew Drive. Vegetable and bean soups will be available, and eat-in and take-out will be available. A bowl of soup is $2.50, and a quart is $5.

Tri-State Writers will meet

WEIRTON - The Tri-State Writers Society, led by award-winning local author Karen Majoris-Garrison, will hold their monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Feb. 11 at Mario's Restaurant.

Moose hosts 'Legends of Music'

WEIRTON - The Weirton Moose will host "Legends of Music," Patsy Cline, Roy Orbison and Elvis tribute artists at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 22 at the Moose's upstairs area located on Main Street.

Tickets are $10 each.

Musketeers 4-H meets

WEIRTON - The Weirton Musketeers 4-H club held their monthly meeting Jan. 19, with Vice President Anna Byers calling the meeting to order and 13 members answering roll call.

Olivia Dowler read the previous meeting's minutes, and Colin Heilman read the treasurers report. Both were approved.

Makenzie Moore gave a visual presentation on rainbow loom. Abby Dowler lead charades, and Alec Burkhart supplied snacks.

The meeting concluded with all members making posters for the county-wide 4-H poster contest. The next Musketeers 4-H meeting is scheduled for Feb. 9 at the Cove Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall.

Free tax prepartion available

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program is providing tax preparation free of charge.

The program is sponsored by the Internal Revenue Service in conjunction with the West Virginia Alliance for Sustainable Families.
