WEIRTON - The Top of West Virginia has joined with four Weirton restaurants to offer the first Weirton Restaurant Tour on Feb. 18.

Tickets for the dining experience are $35 and there are just 40 seats available.

The tour will run from 5:45 p.m. to 9 p.m., with diners meeting at the Serbian-American Cultural Center, where they will board a free shuttle and be chauffeured to four Weirton restaurants.

The first stop will be Fujiyama, where guests will be treated to a mini-hibachi performance and taste a few of the restaurants' most popular appetizers - including hibachi-grilled shrimp with dipping sauce. The next stop will be Mario's for their wedding soup or salad. Diners will then travel by shuttle to Undo's for a main course pasta dish and then back to Tesla's at the Serbian-American Cultural Center for their choice of three desserts.

"The Restaurant Tour gives us a chance to partner with four of our CVB members to create a fun and interesting way for people to try some of the different restaurants in Weirton," said Danny Greathouse, Top of WV executive director. "Relax and let us do the driving - and look forward to a few surprises along the way."

The Top of West Virginia also will hold four drawings throughout the evening for a gift certificate to one of the participating restaurants.

Representatives of the participating restaurants said they are looking forward to having Restaurant Tour guests learn a little more about their establishment while sampling some of their most popular foods.

"We want people to know that Fujiyama is more than a restaurant," said Ben Zhao, whose restaurant is named for Japan's iconic Mount Fuji. "It's a fun, unique dining experience that caters to families!"

Diners must purchase tickets in advance. Stop by the Top of West Virginia Office at 3393 Main St., Weirton. Or, to purchase tickets by mail, call (304) 797-7001. Payment must be received before tickets can be mailed.

"Weirton has a long tradition of great food from many different ethnicities," said Nino Karas of the Serbian-American Cultural Center. "We're planning to serve our traditional Krem Pita, which is like a phyllo dough and custard. We're looking forward to serving this and a few other Serbian dishes to the restaurant tour diners."
