BURGETTSTOWN-The Burgettstown Community Library will hold a Valentine's Day vendor show from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 8 at the library, located at 2 Kerr St.
Vendors include Dove Chocolates, Tastefully Simple, Valentine's Day Cards by Dorothy, Fudgie Wudgie, Avon Jewelry and products, More Than Just Books, Scrub a Dub Dub, The Hillbilly Way and Castellino's Bakery.
The Burgettstown Doll Club meets from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. the last Wednesday of each month and is open to those of all ages interested in collecting 18-inch dolls. Those interested in attending a meeting should call the library to register. The next meeting will be held Wednesday.
The Burgettstown Community Library is holding adult Tai Chi classes at 11 a.m. Thursdays. The cost is a $10 donation.
The board of directors meets at 7 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month, and the public is welcome to attend. They will next meet Feb. 11.
The Quilters and Friends of Quilters meet at 6 p.m. the second Thursday of each month. They are open to both beginning and experienced quilters. Members share ideas and patterns. Newcomers are welcome; call the library to register.
Fort Vance Historical Society volunteers are available to assist with genealogical and historical research. To make an appointment, inquire at the library. The historical society is digitizing its archives so they can accessed from the library's computer network. Those interested in making donations toward this project or assisting can ask at the library.
The society also is composing collections of old newspaper articles on various historic events and people. Volunteers are needed for the collection and organization of these articles. Volunteer hours are flexible. For information on the historical society, call (724) 947-5441.

Library officials request donations of paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap, scotch tape, paper clips, ink pens, Post-It notes, U.S. Postage stamps, art supplies, children's snacks, printer paper and cleaning supplies.
The library is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday; 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday; 9 a.m. to noon, Friday; and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The library is closed Sunday.
Patrons can download e-books and audio books from the library's website at www.burglibrary.org through the "Off the Shelf" initiative.
The library benefits from deposits at the ABITIBI recycling containers, which are located at the library and the Barbush Community Center's baseball field entrance in Langeloth.
The library is holding a continuous book sale, with mysteries, romances, biographies and children's books available. Hardback books are $1, and paperback books are 50 cents.
The library is registered for the Labels for Education program. Residents are asked to drop off labels from participating products. The eLabels for Education program also is available. Those wanting to participate may visit eLabelsForEducation.com and register their frequent shopper card from a participating store and select the library as the organization they want to support. To earn double label points, participants can still clip and redeem labels in addition to registering them through the e-program.
The library also benefits from those designating the library to receive rewards from their Petrucci's IGA Loyalty Card.
