Steubenville Catholic Central senior Brenton Colabella, flanked by his parents, Joe and Lori Colabella, and twin sister, Logan Colabella, will continue his academic and athletic careers at West Liberty University. He will major in education with a minor in special education and be a member of the football team. Colabella finished his career with 7,780 yards, 83 touchdowns and rewrote the Crusaders’ passing records. He is the only four-year starter at quarterback for Central and one of three Ohio Valley signal-callers to pass for more than 7,000 yards in his career. Also on hand for the signing were Crusaders football coach and Athletic Director Steve Daley and Principal Rich Wilinski. “Brenton is one of the best leaders I’ve had,” said Daley. “He led by words and example. He is one of the hardest workers we have. He is one of those kids who is the first one in the locker room and the last one to leave.” Colabella led the Crusaders to a 9-3 record this season and a berth in the state regional semifinals.
