Chambers and James Funeral, Pet and Cremation Services have joined the chamber and expanded their relationships through the business network.
The two funeral homes' motto is "Be a Beacon of Light in the Time of the Storm."
"The staff and I take this to heart," said Eric Fithyan, owner and local resident. "We just finished up with our second annual Operation Valentines with a huge involvement and support by the community."
More than 1,200 valentines were collected, twice as many as last year. This is the funeral homes' first community service project of the year.
"These projects bring us together as a community," said Fithyan. "Feel free to join us for any or all of our community projects."
The funeral homes will participate in several community service events, including Cell Phones for Soldiers in February; Center for Organ Recovery and Education Awareness Campaign in April; Team Lighthouse in the Brooke-Hancock Relay for Life in June; Patriot Walk at James Funeral Home in September; Operation Sweaters for Veterans and Operation Wrap in November; and Wreaths Across America in December.
