Weirton Shriners holding
pancake breakfast Saturday
WEIRTON - The Weirton Shriners will hold a pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Northern Panhandle Shrine Club, located at the end of Cove Road, adjacent to the State Highway Garage.
The meal includes all-you-can-eat pancakes, eggs sausage, coffee and orange juice.
The cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children 6 to 12 and free for children under 6.
Bow shoot benefits local family
WEIRTON - Alexander Archery will hold a benefit bow shoot from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the business located at 3105 Main St.
The shooting range will be open, and the event will include food, drawings and a Chinese auction.
The proceeds will benefit Hancock County Deputy Doug Wad and his family, who lost all their belongings and home in a fire.
Student council raising funds
WEIRTON - The Weir High School student council has organized a celebrity server night from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Weirton Undo's restaurant.
All proceeds from the fundraiser will go to the Weinberg Theatre at the high school.
Crochet group seeks members
WELLSBURG - The Brooke County Public Library's crochet group will meet at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
The group is open to adults at all levels of sewing skill. Help will be available to those who need it.
Participants should bring their own supplies and projects.

WEIRTON - The Greater Weirton Senior Center will hold a dance, featuring music by Not 1/2 Bad, Feb. 20.
Doors will open at 5 p.m. A $5 donation is requested. In the event of inclement weather, the dance will be canceled and rescheduled.

WELLSBURG - The PG-13-rated science fiction film "Ender's Game," based on books by Orson Scott Card and starring Harrison Ford, will be shown at 5 p.m. Feb. 20 at the Brooke County Public Library.

Church to hold ham dinner
WEIRTON - St. Thomas Episcopal Church on Three Springs Drive will hold a ham dinner from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Feb. 21.
The cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children for the meal, which includes ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans, applesauce, bread, butter and coffee. Dessert will be available for 50 cents and bottled water or pop for $1 each.
