Continuing legal education
session available Friday
WHEELING - The Wheeling Academy of Law and Science will hold a continuing education session, "Discovery in a Personal Injury Case, From the Perspective of Plantiff and Defendant," Friday at the First State Capitol located at 1413 Eoff St.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., and the session will be held from 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
Chad Groome of Jividen Law Office and M. Winiesdorffer-Schirripa of Smith, McMunn and Glover will review West Virginia Civil Procedure Rules 26, 30, 33, 34, 36 and 45. They will share tips and suggestions for more effective use of those discovery tools with the goal of streamlining cases and saving costs.
Continental breakfast will be available, and a to-go lunch will be provided at the conclusion. The cost is $75.
West Virginia attorneys will receive three West Virginia Minimum Continuing Legal Education credits. Ohio and Pennsylvania attorneys will receive 2.5 credits.

Cheerleaders holding signups
WEIRTON - The Weirton Steeler Cheerleaders will hold signups for the 2014 season from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 1 and from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Millsop Community Center located on Main Street.
The signup fee is $20.

Free workshop set for March 3
WEIRTON - The Upper Ohio Valley Diabetes Coalition will be hosting a free workshop, "The Diabetes Self-Management Program" for those with diabetes and their caregivers from 6 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. March 3 at the Mary H. Weir Library located at 3442 Main Street.
