Free informational session on Reiki
WEIRTON - In the first of its monthly "Optimal Information Sessions," Ohio Valley Optimal Healthcare is offering a free informational session on Reiki at 6 p.m. Thursday at 6 p.m. at Ohio Valley Optimal Healthcare located at 117B Three Springs Drive.
Pronounced ray-key, Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing.
It is administered by "laying on hands," according to a news release, and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's life force energy is low, then they are more likely to get sick or feel stress; if it is high, they are more capable of being happy and healthy," according to the news release.
The session is free and open to the public and will be presented by Teresa Blackburn, a certified master/teacher of Usui/Tibetan Reiki. Anyone interested in attending can RSVP by calling (304) 723-2494.
