The AIM Women's Center will host its annual fundraising banquet to the theme "You Are Altogether Beautiful and There is No Blemish in You" on March 18 at the Serbian-American Cultural Center in Weirton.
The doors will open at 6:15 p.m. with a cash bar, music and fellowship.
The evening events begin at 7 p.m. and will feature an update on the ministry, a guest speaker, dinner and the opportunity to support the AIM Women's Center, according to a news release.
This year's speaker will be Rebecca Kiessling, an adoptee, family law attorney, wife, mother of five and pro-life activist. Her story is featured in the Citizens United film, "The Gift of Life with Governor Mike Huckabee." She's also been on ABC's Good Morning America, Fox's Huckabee, CNN's Talk Back Live, CBS News, CBN's 700 Club, Catholic TV's This is the Day, EWTN's Life on the Rock and Defending Life and the syndicated program Extra.
Kiessling also has been featured in Glamour magazine and Marie Claire magazine. During his presidential campaign, Gov. Rick Perry credited Kiessling with changing his heart on abortion in cases of rape.
The AIM Women's Center, which is located at 248 N. Fifth St., Steubenville, began in 1987.
"We strive to effectively serve pregnant and at-risk women by transforming any fears surrounding their pregnancy," a center spokesperson said. "Some of the free services offered are pregnancy testing, obstetrical ultrasounds, high-risk STD testing, parenting classes, material assistance, educational programming, post-abortion counseling, adoption referrals and 24-hour helpline," the spokesperson added.
This nonprofit center "strives to empower individuals to make healthy life choices regarding their sexuality, consistent with the sanctity of human life."
