TOPPING, John (Jack) Gibson, 90, of The Palmettos in Charleston, SC, formerly of Steubenville and Columbus, Ohio, died on February 10, 2014.
He was born on June 2, 1923, to the late John G. Topping, II, and Elsie M. Fellows.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Charles H. Fellows; his brother, R. Lee Topping; his stepbrother, William G. Fellows, Sr.; and his stepsister, Wilma Knox.
Jack served on a P. T. Boat while serving in the U.S. Navy in World War II and previously was a typesetter at the Weirton Daily Times and the Columbus Dispatch.
He is survived by his stepdaughter, Donna M. Carnahan of Charleston, SC; his grandchildren, Richard J. (Tiffany) Carnahan of Summerville, SC, and Staci L. Carnahan of Johns Island, SC; and three great-grandchildren, Aiden P. Carnahan, Cole B. Miller, and Alaina L. Miller.
At his request, he was cremated, and no services were held.
