Penny Drive nets $1,000

Liberty Elementary School raised $1,000 with the help of partner-in-education First Choice America Credit Union for the American Heart Association through a penny drive in honor of a Liberty pupil dealing with heart issues. The school raised $943, and First Choice donated $57 to round the amount up to $1,000. Suzy Mastrantoni’s pre-school class, shown, raised the largest amount, $150. Attending the presentation, in addition to the class, were, from left, back, Dawn Swiger and Linda Chappell of First Choice, Principal Stephanie Brown, Mastrantoni and pre-school assistant Brina Schons. -- Summer Wallace-Minger
