Sales today and tomorrow to
benefit Special Olympics
WEIRTON - Fifteen percent of sales from meals sold at the Weirton Bob Evans restaurant from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and Friday will go to Brooke County Special Olympics.
Supporters must present fliers, which can be picked up at the Brooke County Library, Chantal Toning and Tanning, Traubert's Pharmacy, Unique Design, the Hair Shoppe, Capelli Salon and His Place, all in Wellsburg; Crown of Gold Family Hair Salon and the Brooke County Senior Center, both in Follansbee; and the Beech Bottom Post Office.

Lions Club holding fish fry
NEWELL - The Newell Lions Club will hold a fish fry from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at the club located at 510 Washington St.
A fish sandwich is $5, a dinner with sandwich, fries and coleslaw is $8 and sides a la carte are $2. Eat-in and carry-out are available.

Church holding fish fry
WEIRTON - St. Thomas Episcopal church will hold a fish fry from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. every Friday during Lent, including Good Friday, at the church located at Three Springs and St. Thomas drives.
A fish sandwich is $6 and a dinner is $8. Desserts will be available for purchase. Eat-in and take-out will be available.

WBA holding managers meeting
WEIRTON - The Weirton Baseball Association will hold a team managers meeting at 5 p.m. Sunday at the American Legion Hall located on Pennsylvania Avenue.
All team managers are required to attend and will be giving their managers' packet and meet with their player agent to discuss rules and the upcoming season.
Membership cards will be available for purchase at a cost of $5. Every coach who will be in the dugout must have a membership card. Any coach who doesn't have a membership card won't be permitted in the dugout.
The association will hold the regular monthly board meeting immediately following at 6 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
Story hours set
FOLLANSBEE - The Follansbee Branch Library will hold story hours for children, ages 2-5, and their caregivers at noon Monday and April 14, 21 and 28.

Church to sell lunches
WELLSBURG - Christ Episcopal Church at 1014 Main St. will be selling roast beef sandwich lunches from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 10.
The cost is $6.50, which includes chips, beverage and a slice of Texas sheet cake. Individual sandwiches are $4.50. Take-out and delivery to local businesses and shut-ins is available by calling (304) 737-3432 after 8:30 a.m. that day.
Academy holding consignment sale
WEIRTON - The Tri-State Christian Academy will hold the spring consignment sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 10, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. April 11 and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 12 at the R.J. Bush Center, directly behind Mercy Baptist Church located at 3474 Pennsylvania Ave.
April 12 is the half-off day. Items will include children's clothing, bedding and toys. Junior sizes will be sold, and all items are stain-free and in good condition.

Historical society to meet
ELDERSVILLE, Pa. - The Jefferson Township Historical Society will meet at 10 a.m. April 12 at the White Church located at 12 Fire Road, across from the Jefferson Township Volunteer Fire Department.
The program will be "Recalling the History of Jefferson Township," and those attending are invited to share their memories at the audience participation-based program.
The historical society will hold a plant sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 10 at the White Church located on Fire Road.
The society will have a bake sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 24 at the Weirton Wal-Mart in Weirton.
