It is that time of year again, spring! For many people that means baseball season! We will soon hear the sounds of birds chirping, and lawn mowers, and smell fresh cut grass and beautiful flower blossoms. People will be planting seeds and growing beautiful flowers. Maybe not you, but God wants all of us to plant spiritual seeds.
Every believer in Jesus Christ is the result of someone doing some spiritual farming. Sowing and reaping were part of bringing you to Jesus Christ. Jesus told the parable of the sower in Matthew 13:1-8.
Matthew 13:3, "Then He spoke many things to them in parables, saying: "Behold, a sower went out to sow""
The sower represents every believer of Jesus Christ. We are to go and share the Gospel with everyone. We have been commissioned by Jesus Christ to make disciples of all nations. (Matthew 28:18-20).
The sower's work is very important, if he does not sow, he will not reap a harvest. Where is the sower going? He is going into all of the world, to sow the seed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus tells us to go into the world and preach the Gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15).
The seed that is sown is the Word of God. But why shall we sow this seed? It is the only message that will save lost sinners. The Word of God contains the way of salvation. When this seed is planted into the lives of sinners, it will blossom into a beautiful life that is ever lasting. This is the seed of hope that brings light when we face the darkest moments of our lives.
How can you sow this good seed? You can start by living the message every day. You choose to "Be a blessing" to everyone you meet. Share the "Living Water" of Jesus Christ and allow "the Light of the world" to shine brightly in the darkness.
We need to share the message though our actions. Many people will share through words, but actions speak louder than words. We can invite and bring others to church where they will hear the Word of God as it is taught. God can change their lives and make them "New Creations in Christ."
Have you done any sowing lately? This spring as you sow grass seed, or plant flowers, and vegetable gardens, ask yourself this question, "How long has it been since I planted a spiritual garden?"
Remember, if no Spiritual seed is sown, there will be no Spiritual garden. We will be celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ is just a couple of weeks. Will you tell someone that Jesus is alive? He lives! I challenge you to plant a spiritual garden for Jesus. You sow the seed, He will make it grow. God Bless you as you sow for Him!
