WEIRTON - Two local organizations have joined forces to provide food for area residents in need.
The Salvation Army and the Community Bread Basket will host a mobile food distribution for residents of Hancock and Brooke counties on Thursday.
It will be held from noon to 4 p.m. at the Salvation Army, 796 Cove Road in Weirton, while food lasts.
To receive food through the distribution, individuals must bring a West Virginia identification, a rent receipt or utility bill and a box, which will be exchanged for a box of food.
Those interested in receiving food are asked not to arrive before 11 a.m. as the parking lot to the Salvation Army will be closed to allow the truck to be unloaded.
For more information, contact the Salvation Army at (304) 748-4310.
The distribution is provided through funding from a grant provided by the Mountaineer Food Bank.
