Creek girls top Big Red
STEUBENVILLE -The Indian Creek girls tennis team beat Steubenville, 4-3, on Thursday.
Annie Nehrbas and Lexie Biasi earned wins for Big Red.
For the Redskins, Abbie Winland and Shelby Dye earned wins.
In doubles, Winland and Jessica Furda earned a win for Creek, while Karli Celestin and Deseree Taylor also came out on top.
Steubenville season tickets
STEUBENVILLE - Steubenville Big Red football season ticket holders may now pre-pay for 2014 seats.
Tickets, though, cannot be picked up until August.
There will be nine home games at $54 per seat.
If anyone is interested in ordering season tickets, go to the ticket office at Steubenville High School, which is open Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. to noon.

Steuben Striders sign up
STEUBENVILLE - The Steuben Striders will hold registration from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday in Room 2500 at Eastern Gateway Community College for athletes ages 5-18.
Cost is $30 per person. Parents are asked to bring birth certificate of first-time runners.

FUS softtball loses on senior day
STEUBENVILLE - The Franciscan University of Steubenville softball made improvements, but could not do enough, in tough losses to Bethany College, 7-3 and 18-6.
The Barons finished off their last home game, paying tribute to their three seniors: third baseman Mallori Linscomb, outfielder Rosemary Cassidy, and outfielder Allison White.
"Communication on the field today was great," coach Jen Parker said.
"I can't ask for anything more than that. They called each other off, they told each other who needed to get the ball when they need to, and it was great communication."
The Lady Barons softball team will head north for their season finale at Hilbert College on Saturday for a doubleheaders starting at 1 p.m.
