WEIRTON - Water service will be shut off in a portion of northern Weirton Monday to allow for line repairs, according to the Weirton Area Water Board.
Service will be off from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday in the north end of downtown Weirton from City Street to St. John's Road, but not affecting St. John's Road. The outage will allow crews to replace valves in the area.
Following the repairs, residents and businesses may experience discolored water Monday and Tuesday, according to officials. Customers should refrain from washing laundry during this time.
A precautionary boil order will be in place for at least 48 hours following the work.
