Weirton beats Wheeling
WHEELING - Weirton Post 10 scored six times in the top of the fifth inning and parlayed it into a 10-7 victory over host Wheeling Post 1 Monday at the I-470 Youth Sports Complex.
Post 10 (1-2) heads to the Elkins Tournament Thursday through Saturday.
Mitch Viakley earned the win.
Vinnie Merica singled twice for a pair of RBIs for the winners. William Larch added a double and two RBIs, Matt Cessna two singles and an RBI and Kelaen Welch a single and an RBI.
Wheeling held a 4-0 lead through three innings.

Richmond tops Massillon
EAST SPRINGFIELD - Richmond topped Massillon, 10-4, on Monday to improve its summer season record to 7-8.
Austin Horan earned the win on the mound in relief of Clay Woodward. Horan struck out seven and walked none, pitching from the fourth through the ninth inning.
Woodward struck out five and walked five. At the plate, Horan singled and drove in a pair of runs, while Nolan Marcus had two singles, a triple and an RBI. Collin Scott doubled in a run, while Woodward and Josh Pasek also had RBIs.
Richmond faces Post 33 today at 6 p.m. at Vaccaro Field.

Hicks to sign book
STEUBENVILLE - Lester Hicks, a former Big Red football and basketball standout and the author of "Against All Odds: 4th Down and Forever," will be in town this week for several speaking and signing engagements.
Hicks, who was named one of Marshall University's 125 Most Impactful Black Athletes during the 20th Century and also received a 2014 Pathfinder Award, will visit the Kroger store at 264 S. Hollywood Blvd., from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday. He will return to Kroger from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and again from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.
On Thursday at 6 p.m., he will be at the Toronto Public Library, 607 Daniels St. And, he will be at the Brightway Center, 2511 County Road 15, Rayland, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday.
Brooke to hold hoops camp
WELLSBURG - Brooke High School will hold a youth basketball camp from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. June 23-26.
Camp is open to all students who are entering grades 4-8. Any student entering the 9th grade may not attend due to WVSSAC rules. The cost per student is $50. Each additional child from the same family will be $45.00. Checks are to be made to Brooke High (footnoted boy's basketball).

Panthers to hold hoops camp
RAYLAND - The Buckeye Local Boys Basketball Camp in grades K-8 will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 7-8 at the high school. Cost is $20 per person. Lunch will be provided and each camper will get a camp T-shirt.

WELLSBURG - A youth soccer camp for students in grades 1-8 will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. June 30-July 2 at the Brooke High School soccer field. Cost is $30 per child. Registration will be held at the soccer field at 5 p.m. on June 30. Proceeds will benefit the Bruins girls soccer program.
