To the Editor,
A few weeks ago my wife, who is a Weirton Times carrier, was taken by ambulance to the hospital.
Her district manager was going to do some of her route and I thought that, being a good husband, I could do the rest since I had a route list with addresses on it. Wrong.
The problem is that people don't have their addresses on their house or mailbox. I thought that it was an ordinance here in Weirton or Hancock County that the number had to be posted on the house in 3-inch numbers. If it's not an ordinance, it sure as heck should be.
I can only guess what emergency personnel go through if someone's life is in danger.
Come on people, we are only talking a couple of bucks. Get numbers on your house, or uncover them if you already have them, so they can be seen easily.
Your life or home may depend on it.
Luckily my wife is fine and back to doing her papers.
