A local development agency is getting a helping hand to promote economic growth in the region.
On Thursday, U.S. Rep. David McKinley, R-Wheeling, announced the Brooke-Hancock Regional Development Council had been awarded $70,000 from teh U.S. Economic Development Administration.
"It's important to revitalize the economy in places like Weirton and New Cumberland when families continue to struggle," said McKinley. "This award will help support small businesses and promote job creation and growth in this region."
The EDA investment will be used by the Brooke-Hancock Regional Development Council to promote and support private industry, investment and job creation in the region, according to McKinley.
