WEIRTON - The Antonio Meucci Lodge 2506 met July 8 at Undo's.
Mary Rose Spano led the invocation, and Boyd Barker led the Pledge of Allegiance. Members sang "God Bless America."
President Regina Truax introduced guest Anna Purks, Larry and Barbara Purks' granddaughter, and called the meeting to order. Secretary Rita Orler called roll and read the minutes. Linda Pfabe gave the treasurer's report, and Carol Valenti gave the financial report. Both were approved and filed for audit.
Members observed the July birthdays of Nick Iannetti, Mary Lou Rossi, Jeannette LaRosa, Wanda Perrone and Tony LaRosa and sang "Happy Birthday."
Regina Truax reminded members scholarship entries and essays are due. The Scholarship Committee, including Dominic Potts, Mina Potts and Rita Orler will select the recipients.
The annual summer picnic will be held at 2 p.m. Aug. 3 at Starvaggi Memorial Park. Members are asked to bring a covered dish.
Members also are invited to participate in a bus trip to the Little Italy Festival Aug. 23 in Pittsburgh's Bloomfield neighborhood. The event includes Italian music, entertainment, food and a bocce tournament.

Sept. 10-12, Seneca Niagara Falls Casino, Niagara, N.Y.;
Sept. 22-26, Pigeon Forge, Tenn.; and
Oct. 12, Una Bella Festa, Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center.

The Donohues, a father-son duo from Paris, Pa., entertained, ending by performing several patriotic songs.
Dolores LaRosa won the 50/50, and Carl Truax won the Undo's gift certificate.
