WEIRTON - The Nifty Needles Neighborhood Group of the American Sewing Guild held the July meeting at the First Christian Church on Main Street.
Leader Nancy Sanders presided over the meeting.
She reminded members of a planned field trip to Moundsville to shop for fabric and have lunch.
The Monoreville Sewing Expo will be held Aug. 14-16.
Middie Freese displayed two fidget quilts, made for those on the autism spectrum, during the show-and-tell segment. Marcie Cooper displayed quilted chair pad covers, throw pillow covers and placemats in matching fabrics. Nancy Linn shared information from the Quick Styles to Sew magazine.
Dale Negle presented a program on fitted coasters for stemware, and each member received a kit.
Negle served refreshments and also received the door prize, a crocheted pursed embroidered with flowers and made by Cooper.
The next meeting will be held Aug. 5. Village will present the program.
