WEIRTON - President Joann Bugin called the July AARP 3846 meeting to order.
Virginia Kucan gave the invocation, followed by members reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and singing "God Bless America."
Vice President Bettie Williamson introduced Dave Watkins of Martini Time and his wife Sherry. Martini Time was the evening's entertainment. Donohue and Son will entertain at the August meeting.
Secretary Barbara Purks read the June minutes, and Treasurer Frank Fazio gave his report. Both were approved and accepted.
Sunshine Chair Mary Rose Spano sent get-will cards to Loretta Nicholas, Joann Bugin, Viola Blanc and Dean Allen and a sympathy card to Midge Green.
Members acknowledged the birthdays of Doris Ficca, Viola Blanc, Katy Rosohac, Liz Messerly, Nancy Tournay and Mary Margaret Klepadlo and Al and Ruth Daugherty's anniversary.
Regina Truax announced upcoming trips. They include:
Aug. 21, Nemacolin Lady Luck Casino;
Aug. 23, Bloomfield Festival; and
Sept. 18, Strip District.

Membership Chair Joyce Dobbs introduced new member Dorothy Robinson, making the membership total 125.
Joann Bugin thanked all committees for their work in keeping AARP active.
Barb McCoy reported on penny jar collection. Milt Fabianich has collected 16 pairs of glasses and five cell phones.
Steve Rzepka and Norma Yingst won Undo's gift certificates; Marie Straight and Patty Beltrame won the 50/50 drawing; Joann Clark won the club check; Virginia Kucan won the quilt; and Mary Rose Spano won the throw.
Hospitality Chair Kathryn Hardsauk gave prizes to John Fields, Larry Purks, Nancy Smurda, Regina Truax, Virginia Kucan, Mike Oklok, Carolyn Hill and Eva Fabiznich.
Virginia Kucan gave benediction and the meeting adjourned.
The next meeting will be held Aug. 11.
