Post 33 drops tournament game

YOUNGSTOWN — Jefferson County Teramana Post 33 fell to the Steel City Select Thursday evening in the Youngstown wooden bat tournament, 4-1.

For Post 33, Alec Taylor had a single and double, while Nicky Zorne had a double and an RBI.

Andrew Kinney took the loss on the mound, striking out three and walking three in five innings of work.

Steel City Select did all of its scoring in the first two innings, putting up one in the first and three in the second to jump out to a 4-0 lead.

Jefferson County got on the board in the bottom of the fourth inning with Zorne’s RBI double, but never got any closer.

Post 33 is now 10-10 and continues in the tournament today against the Diamond Hit Club.
