Oak Glen volleyball takes care of Creek

WINTERSVILLE — The Oak Glen volleyball team defeated Indian Creek on the road Wednesday in four sets, 26-24, 25-9, 24-26, 25-12.

Hannah Rogers had 16 kills, three blocks and five digs for the Golden Bears. Jaedyn Hissam had 38 assists, four kills and two blocks. McKayla Goodlin had 12 kills, five blocks and 10 digs. Alayna Kranis had nine kills and two blocks. Hanna Tice had six kills, six blocks and a dig. Graci Tice had four kills, two blocks and a dig.

Beaver Local 3, Steubenville 0

STEUBENVILLE — Beaver Local swept the Steubenville volleyball team on Wednesday, 25-23, 25-23, 26-24.

For Big Red, Anna Taylor had six kills, six digs, two blocks and an assist. Sidney Snyder had 16 kills, five digs and four blocks. Leah Ferguson had 15 assists, six digs and an ace. Makayla Abram had nine blocks and five kills. Emily Allen had 10 assists, five digs and three aces.

Madonna 3, Clay-Battelle 0

WEIRTON — The Madonna volleyball team defeated Clay-Battelle in three sets on Wednesday.

The Blue Dons got 15 digs, four aces and two kills from Jaedyn Kush. Andy Alimario had eight aces and seven kills. Maddie Daughterty had 25 digs. Michaela Battista had 13 digs. Addie Backel had five digs.

Madonna plays tonight at Beallsville.

Wheeling Park 3, Brooke 2

WHEELING — The Brooke volleyball team fell to Wheeling Park, 25-19, 18-25, 25-23, 26-28, 15-6, on Wednesday.

Hope Bowman had 22 kills and eight blocks for the Bruins (4-7). Landyn Haynes tallied five aces, 33 digs and 14 kills. Courtney Engle had three aces, 27 digs, 15 kills and eight blocks. Maria Kamarados added 24 digs, 12 kills and a pair of blocks.

Brooke will participate in the Greenbrier East Tournament on Saturday.

Harrison wins quad

CADIZ — The Harrison Central golf team won a quad-match with Catholic Central, Weir High and Oak Glen Wednesday at Cadiz Country Club.

Harrison Central finished with a team score of 172. Cameron McIntosh was the medalist with a 41. Cruz Capers and Sam Santille each shot 43. Nick Coffland shot a 45.

Catholic Central finished with a 176, led by Zach Campbell’s 42. Cole Tegano shot a 44. Luca Connor and Johnny O’Karma each shot 45.

Weir High turned in a team score of 199. Jesse Tustin shot a 47, Jasmine Tustin a 48, Dom Simich a 49 and Zach Guiddy 55.

Oak Glen recorded a team score of 201. Josh Cline shot a 45, Jacob Gittings a 46, Caleb Cline a 51 while Aiden Hall and Connor Blake both shot a 59.

Big Red wins quad

WEIRTON — The Steubenville golf team won a quad-match with John Marshall, Brooke and Madonna.

Big Red finished with a team score of 178. Paul Mastros shot a 38, Micah Krause a 41, Isaac Krause a 48 and Carlo Biasi a 51.

John Marshall finished with a 193, led by Cody Sprowls’ 46.

Brooke shot a team score of 215. Ryan Bilby was the medalist with a 35. Alex Jezierski shot a 54, Cole Craft a 60 and Alexis Spensky a 66.

Madonna did not turn in enough score for a team score. Dom Mazur shot a 46, Chad Durante a 58 and Adam Burdette a 64.

Toronto wins tri

CALCUTTA — The Toronto golf team ended Beaver Local’s unbeaten regular season on Wednesday, topping a tri-match at Beaver Meadows with 162, followed by Beaver 166 and Crestview 196.

Toronto’s Cole Degarmo was the medalist with a 1-under 34. Andrew Roch added a 40, Brennon Suffoletta 42 and Hunter Keenan 46.

Leaders for the Beavers were T.J. Wilson and Luke Eyster with 39, Grant Hall 41 nd Tyler Hall 47.

For Crestview, Ethan McCloskey with a 41, Arianna Rodi and Brandon Urmson with 48s and Matthew Wollet 52.
