Crusaders cruise past Beavers

LISBON – The Steubenville Catholic Central baseball team jumped on Beaver Local with nine runs in the first two innings before cruising to a 14-1 victory Wednesday.

Jack Reed took the win on the hill for the Crusaders with a six-strikeout performance.

Stone Romano belted a home run and added a single with Brenton Colabella collecting a triple and a pair of singles. Aleks Porreca and Chris Murphy each had a double and a single with Jacob Arai adding two singles, and Josh Merriman connecting for a double.

Catholic Central (15-6) travels to Union Local today.

Huskies down Tigers

CADIZ – The Harrison Central baseball team defeated Shadyside 8-2 Wednesday.

Kalub Mitchell had a triple, single, and three RBIs to lead the Huskies offense. Rashaen Mitchell had a pair of singles and an RBI with Dalton Rutter and winning pitcher Nick Pelegreen each adding a single and driving in a run. Nick Staten had a double.

Wildcats crush Warriors

RICHMOND – The Edison baseball team rolled to a 10-1 win over Carrollton Wednesday.

Josh Pasek had four hits, including a triple, to go with a pair of RBIs. Dylan Glasure had a single and a double with two RBIs while Brian Straka added two singles and two RBIs. Nolan Marcus drove in two runs as well. Ryan Kramarich was awarded the win, giving up just a first inning run and striking out three over six. Collin Scott pitched a scoreless seventh.

Edison hosts Barnesville today.

Edison defeats Mooney

RICHMOND – The Edison softball team topped Cardinal Mooney, 5-1, on the power of a four-run sixth inning.

Mikayla Tice was the winning pitcher, striking out seven over seven frames. Molly McCoy had a pair of doubles with Maddy Hunter, Cassady Jarvis, Caitlin Brenstuhl, and Ashlee Miller each collecting a single.

Edison (16-9) hosts Claymont today.
